Hello! 

Welcome to the first in our series of Meet The Creator, a collection of short interviews with our amazing featured small businesses! Today, we meet the wonderful people behind Popcorn Clothing. 

We have featured Popcorn Clothing in our boxes on several occasions now and there's a good reason for it! Not only are they some of the loveliest human beings I've had the fortune to know, but their products are exceptionally high quality. Each month Popcorn Clothing has featured in one of our boxes, we've received rave reviews from our customers about the design and product itself. If you haven't grabbed one of their t-shirts yet, we will continue to partner with them to bring you incredible things in the future! 

So lets get to know them...

Hey! Who are you?

Hi! We are Claire and Alex, just a couple of Disnerds so if we aren’t making tees you’ll find us in the parks.

Where are you from?

We are from Newcastle Upon Tyne in the North East of England

Why did you start your business?

We love Disney details and we struggled with finding t-shirts that we really liked in the Park shops. Of course, we’d talk about what type of shirt we’d really like or how we wished that X or Y was available so the idea just really grew from there and one day we decided to go ahead and do it!

What products do you sell?

Right now we sell Tshirts, Tank Tops, Sweaters and Watches.

What do you enjoy most about being a small shop?

I’d have to say the response from customers. It’s a really great feeling to see products that we’ve dreamed up and created being enjoyed by others. We love seeing all those customer pics from around the world of people wearing our shirts and it’s a real honour that people choose us to help enhance their Disney days whether in the parks or at home. We’ve met so many amazing people because of Popcorn through being tagged in pics and even in person at the parks.

What’s your favourite product?

We know this sounds so cliche but we really don’t have a favourite product. Every product we have made is something we genuinely wanted for ourselves and we put so much thought and research into the designs that each one is really special to us. 

What’s your dream product to create?

We’re actually testing some new products at the moment so I guess for that one you’ll just have to wait and see, sorry my lips are sealed.

If you could travel back in time and give yourself some advice, what would it be?

Everything takes time.

Nothing happens overnight and you have to put in a lot of time and effort, sometimes it can be a steep learning curve but you get out what you put in and you grow from that, we wouldn’t change it for the world.

If you could be a Disney character for a day, who would you be and why?

Alex says Gaston so he could have hundreds of women swooning over him.  I’d probably say Stitch because you can be really naughty and everyone loves you for it in fact the naughtier the better.  

 Like Ernesto De La Cruz, we think you should seize your moment! So tell us what makes you magical?

We love those little Disney details that help create the magic and adventure of the parks and movies so when we create a design we really want it to be the best it can be, for example, we colour matched the shirt and print colours on our Be Brave Tee to the actual Tartan that was used in Brave but in our research we learned that Tartan was created especially for that movie and it is now recorded as an official Tartan how cool is that! We’re really passionate about Disney and what we do and we know that our customers are too so we really just want to make sure that that’s reflected in our products.
